What is Clipmarks?
Clipmarks lets you clip specific pieces of web pages, then share what you clip with your friends on Facebook, MySpace or anywhere else. Unlike bookmarks that let you share a link to an entire page, our free clip button lets you capture and share the highlights from the page. Clips can also be saved privately, emailed or printed.
How can I start clipping?
To start clipping,

What are Guides?
By selecting users to be your Guides, you're creating a team of people who will bring you the most compelling clips of text, images, and video they find on the web. Essentially, they're your web editors, enabling you to consume a more diverse stream of content than you could surfing alone. All clips posted by your Guides will appear at:

To make someone a Guide, click the "Follow" button on their page or below any clip
Can I get a widget of my clips to put on another site?
Yes, you can add a widget of your clips to your MySpace page, blog, or any other site. There is a "Get a Widget" link at the top right of all clip lists on clipmarks.com.
If you already have a Clipmarks account, you can see your widget at yourusername.clipmarks.com.
Is there a limit on how much I can clip?
If you want to save a clip publicly or post it on your blog, it needs to be under 1,000 characters. There is no limit if you want to save a clip privately, email it or print it.
Are clips private or public?
Each time you save a clip, you can check a box if you want it to be private. Otherwise it will saved publicly.
Where are clips saved?
Clips are saved on the Clipmarks servers so they can be accessed on the web from any internet connected device (including your iphone, blackberrty or other mobile device).
How do I edit or delete one of my clips?
To edit or delete one of your clips, click the Edit link below it.
Can I add someone else's clip to my own collection?
Yes. Just click the Share button under any clip on the site that you want included on your page. You must be logged in to clipmarks to do this.
What kind of search queries are supported?

When I delete a folder, what happens to the clips in it?
Deleting a folder does not necessarily delete the clips in it. They will still appear: (i) in other folders you have added them to; (ii) in search results, and (iii) via the clip's permalink.
* Please note: All clips created prior to December 11, 2007 have automatically been included in your Main folder.
I installed Clipmarks in Firefox (or Flock), but I don't see it
If you haven't already done so since you've installed Clipmarks, close and reopen your browser. Then follow the steps below:
A. In the top menu of Firefox, click: View >> Toolbars >> Customize

B. In the window that opens, scroll down until you see the Clipmarks
icon. Drag it to your desired position in the Firefox toolbar. Click done.

I installed Clipmarks in Internet Explorer, but I don't see it
IE7 users: At the top right of your browser, click the Tools button and select the Toolbars menu item. Make sure that Lock the Toolbars is not checked and that Clipmarks is checked. This should do it. If not, every once in a while IE mixes up toolbars, so you might have to try clicking on different names in the Toolbar list.
IE6 users: Click on View >> Toolbars at the top of your browser. Make sure that Lock the Toolbars is not checked and that Clipmarks is checked. This should do it. If not, every once in a while IE mixes up toolbars, so you might have to try clicking on different names in the Toolbar list.
How do I uninstall Clipmarks?
IE users: Go to Window's Control Panel. Click Add or Remove Programs. Click on Clipmarks. Then click the Remove button.
Firefox users: On Firefox's top menu, click Tools » Add-ons. Click on Clipmarks. Then click the Uninstall button.
What blogging services are supported for Clip-to-Blog?
Clipmarks currently supports Blogger, WordPress, TypePad, LiveJournal, Movable Type and Vox. We also provide an embed code so you can embed any clip onto MySpace or any other site.

What sites can I clip video from?
You can currently clip video that is hosted on the following sites: atomfilms.com, bolt.com, break.com, dailymotion.com, ifilm.com, metacafe.com, myspace.com, podtech.net, stupidvideos.com, uncutvideo.aol.com, video.google.com, video.yahoo.com, vimeo.com and youtube.com.
What are pops?
A pop is basically a way of thanking a user for posting a clip and telling other people on clipmarks.com that you think they should see it.
